Cordish Companies to open Cleveland Live! in new project
The Cordish Companies announced Thursday that it will open a Cleveland Live! entertainment venue as the anchor tenant of a new mixed-use, high-rise development in that Ohio city.
Located downtown, across the street from Quicken Loans Arena, home of the NBA‘s Cleveland Cavaliers, the $540 million nuCLEus project is planned to include offices, residences, a hotel, parking garage and retail and restaurants. It is being developed by Stark Enterprises, a Cleveland-based real estate firm.
Cordish is leasing 47,780 square feet in nuCLEus for Cleveland Live! in project, aimed to open in 2019. The Baltimore-based developer has created or is developing a number of similar entertainment venues wedded to nearby sporting venues, including in Philadelphia, St. Louis, Kansas City and Arlington, Texas. It also owns Power Plant Live in Baltimore and Maryland Live casino in Hanover.
“nuCLEus is a world-class project lead by an incredibly experienced team in Spark Enterprises and we could not be more excited and proud to be a part of it,” Blake Cordish, a Cordish vice president, said in a statement. “Cleveland Live! represents so many things that our Company is passionate about: urban revitalization, best-in-class dining and entertainment, one-of-a-kind sports-anchored experiences, and creation of a central gathering place for the community.”
Cordish’s Live venues include a mix of national and regional eateries with entertainment areas.
